Cherry Porch Bench

Several years back, when the kids were young, we bought some plastic, utilitarian porch benches to store their “stuff” in. Those benches best days are behind them as the plastic has become stained and brittle. One thing I enjoy doing is looking at an existing design and coming up with a new plan from it. I still had quite a bit of cherry from a load I pulled out of the kiln early in the summer so that made the decision of what kind of wood easy, and I even found a nice, but small slab I had been hanging onto for something down the road. This was the first project I tried a different finish for me. It is another hard wax and oil mix called Walrus Furniture Butter. I really like the figuring that popped out in the panels once the finish was applied.
